Farmer's Market Pie Crate

If you have ever read the children's story, “Harold and the Purple Crayon,” you know that Harold takes a picnic to the beach for some of his favorite friends. And while we don't imagine that you might need nine pies all at once, our new pie carrier can certainly simplify the transport of one. Constructed of clear white pine with a plywood base and brass hardware, our pie carriers are each individually handcrafted by our talented carpenter. It is hand sanded and has a light polyurethane finish to protect the wood against stains and spills. The outside measurements are 12”l x 12”w x 3”d, the brass closure is a small version of a trunk latch and the lid is hinged. It will accommodate an 8”, 9” and most 10” pie plates. A very good way to carry a freshly baked pie to Grandmother's house, the neighborhood picnic or church potluck supper.
